Brown Grand Theatre

The Brown Grand Theatre was built in 1907 and has been on the National Historic Register since 1973. It is known for its iconic curtain depicting Napoleon Bonaparte and for hosting amazing shows and events. Tours are available Monday-Friday 9-11am and by appointment. Please call ahead. Admission is free for groups under 10 people, but donations are encouraged.

WWII POW Camp

During WWII, German prisoners of war were interred in the United States. Some of them were sent to work on farms right here, in Concordia, KS. The POW camp was one of the largest camps in Kansas, and operated from 1943-1945. Today, the guard post, a ware house, the officers club, a tower, and a few foundations and walls remain. Visitors are free to walk around the grounds at anytime, but to visit the museum, please call the Cloud County Tourism Office at the number listed above. Admission to the museum is $5.

The Cloud County Museum, housed in a historic Carnegie Library, is home to exhibits all about Cloud County, Kansas. See a full sized Lincoln Page biplane, an iron lung, and thousand of objects belonging to Cloud County residents past and present. Admission is $5.

Nazareth Convent and Academy

Construction on the Nazareth Convent and Academy began in 1902. For years it served as a church, school, and home to the Sisters of St. Joseph of Concordia. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. Today it is home to more than 30 Sisters of St. Joseph who are retired from active ministry and hosts public events throughout the year. Due to COVID, the convent may be closed, so be sure to call ahead if you would like to visit.
